Vacature Space-based SAR Internship

Once part of the team, you will be introduced to the world of SAR and the latest developments in the Dutch SAR industry and further build on your Python experience. Additionally, you get to experience the fun environment at S[&]T.

The focus of this internship is to determine the possibility of creating a machine-learning software module capable of processing open-source S.A.R. data from Sentinel-1 satellites to detect irregular vessel positions in the sea.

The candidate will have to define the use case and create the appropriate training data. After which, the candidate will use or build upon existing resources and expert knowledge at S[&]T to provide a Python module capable of detecting and classifying objects of interest using a machine learning algorithm.

Requirements

• Python experience
• Affinity with data analysis
• Enthusiasm for the space domain
• Beneficial: Experience with machine learning in Python
